The village fete is usually held on the last w/e in July
when all the traffic is stopped so that a flock of local sheep can walk up
the main street! There is country dancing on the car park. A very lively
and colourful occasion!

The local bakery is a mere two
minutes walk away. Like all French boulangeries
there is a wide selection of bread, croissants and cakes. You can also buy
basic provisions here. Enjoy!

The Hotel de France is a very
friendly bar and the owner Natalie is an excellent chef. They offer good
value meals in their restaurant. We especially enjoy the 10 Euros midday
meal which is a self serve buffet for first course, followed by a hot
course, cheese and dessert. And all accompanied with the local house
wine-red, white or rose. Please note that this is so close that you can
walk there and safely stagger back!

At the local mairie
is the secretary, Francoise Fleury, who will help
you in any way that she can. You can purchase fishing permits here. The
River Fouzon is about a 10 minute walk from the house.

The village is like stepping back
into time and has many interesting characters and, of course, an old
Citroen!
|
|
There is also a hair dressing and
nail care salon, a butchers (open Thurs, Fri and
Sat) and a post office.

The local walks and fishing areas are
well sign-posted and the whole area is ideal for cycling with its gently
curving terrain.
