The river Cher is visible from
many roads as you drive around the area. The views are from a bridge near Villefranche, in Chabris and
in Montrichard where there is swimming and a
variety of activities on offer.

This secluded beach, play area and
lake for swimming are at Villentrois which is
about a 20 minute drive from the house. The water is tested and the results
are displayed. There is also a football pitch and table tennis tables here.
The middle photo shows the swimming
pool at Valencay, only 5 miles away. There is
also a paddling pool and outdoor table tennis tables. Market day is Tuesday.

where you can also paddle sand swim in the river Cher.

The Cathedral at Tours. Tours is a great city with
medieval parts and lots of
restaurants, bars and a wonderful atmosphere.

The Canal du
Berry offers pleasant walks. This access point is just past Chabris. Romorantin Lenthenay offers
many independent shops, pavement bars and a variety of architecture.

A view across the river to St. Aignan where there is a very old monastery and one of
our favourite restaurants. There is also Beauval zoo here which is very involved in
saving endangered species.

Medieval architecture is well
preserved.

A ten minute drive will bring you to Chabris where you can fish, paddle, swim or play
tennis.
|
|

|
|
A day trip to Chambord is well worth it. This is the
chateau with the double helix staircase, designed by Leonardo da Vinci. If you drive via Bracieux
you can stop off for a drink en route.
